Vulnerability

iStock_000009381744SmallSome people mature beyond shame and pride.

These people, many whom have grown weary of the question of worthiness, acquiesce to the external standard.

To acquiesce in this way is called vulnerability.

Here’s an example: “Ok, I admit it – It’s true. I’m not very manly man.  I don’t watch football, I cry at movies, and I’m well below average height, not as respected as bigger men and it’s unlikely that, no matter what I do, that’s ever going to change.”

Due to Brene Brown’s viral TED Talk, the concept of vulnerability is currently very popular.

To be sure, vulnerability transcends shame and pride, but it is not the highest context for living.
